The Syracuse gig
Extremely weak. A total clusterfuck of a night. I literally played three songs before the party got shut down. The DJ schedule was running at least 1 hour behind. I wasn’t the only one who got screwed — lots of other DJs only got to play for about 15 minutes. What really made it annoying was the one DJ who did get to play for a full hour (maybe longer) was awful — absolutely no skills, unless big tits and slutty outfits count as skills. She could not mix cake batter. It’s unfair to the DJs who put in years of practice to develop the skills to warrant a timeslot — but not really different than how it works in other entertainment industries, I suppose.
At least I got some of my expenses covered…but definitely thinking twice about ever doing this event again. Only positives were getting some great deals at the Waterloo Outlet Mall and checking out the ginormous Carousel Mall and riding the authentic early 20th century carousel.
